Our first meeting of the New Year. No visitors but lots of
members. The suggested Resolutions were read out and members
individually voted for their choice. We voted from - Cycle Helmets;
Airborne Litter; More Midwives; Field Study Centres and Outdoor
Education; Reducing Fuel Poverty; Achieving Legal Status for British
Residents; More Use of Sign Language for the Deaf.
Meetings were arranged for out Table Cloth project and our entry for
'Capture the Games'. Tickets were on sale for the Spring Group
Meeting (May 8th at The Tabor School) and the annual Felsted
Challenge will be held at the Rayne Scout Headquarters on February
15th. Five members were presented with birthday posies and then we
spent the evening in groups working towards next years' speaker
programme, classes, social times and outings. Lots of suggestions
and ideas. Chris Brine won the 'most unusual Christmas gift - a huge
skinny giraffe with Cynthia in second place and Gloria in third.
Annie was the lucky winner of a very good raffle.
Next month we have Glenys Chatterley speaking on 'Facing the
Challenge'. What challenge? Come and join us in the Rayne Village
Hall on Tuesday February 7th. 7.15 for 7.30pm and find out! Visitors
are always welcome.
