January 2012

Our first meeting of the New Year. No visitors but lots of members. The suggested Resolutions were read out and members individually voted for their choice. We voted from - Cycle Helmets; Airborne Litter; More Midwives; Field Study Centres and Outdoor Education; Reducing Fuel Poverty; Achieving Legal Status for British Residents; More Use of Sign Language for the Deaf.
Meetings were arranged for out Table Cloth project and our entry for 'Capture the Games'. Tickets were on sale for the Spring Group Meeting (May 8th at The Tabor School) and the annual Felsted Challenge will be held at the Rayne Scout Headquarters on February 15th. Five members were presented with birthday posies and then we spent the evening in groups working towards next years' speaker programme, classes, social times and outings. Lots of suggestions and ideas. Chris Brine won the 'most unusual Christmas gift - a huge skinny giraffe with Cynthia in second place and Gloria in third. Annie was the lucky winner of a very good raffle.
Next month we have Glenys Chatterley speaking on 'Facing the Challenge'. What challenge? Come and join us in the Rayne Village Hall on Tuesday February 7th. 7.15 for 7.30pm and find out! Visitors are always welcome.
